The workshop will take place in the pretty little town Skara. Skara is situated 130 km northeast from Gothenburg between the two big lakes Vänern and Vättern. It is one of the oldest towns in the county and is situated in the middle of one of the most important agricultural areas. It was in Skara that the first Swedish veterinary courses started in 1775. The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) has one campus here. The research at SLU in Skara is focused on precision agriculture, meat production, animal welfare and extension.
The Venue Rosers salonger, is situated in the very center of Skara, just opposite the bus station. It is a hotel and restaurant (Skara Stadshotell) with conference facilities for up to 500 persons. The restaurant is merited with experience of arranging food at big events such as the world expo in Shanghai and dinners with the royal family. They have a special interest for Swedish quality food and local suppliers.
